Staff Profile – Jamie
What is your role at Dunedin IT?
Anyone who works in a small business knows there’s no such things as job titles especially in the early days but I suppose its Managing Director looking after the day to day operations of the business.
What Qualifications do you hold?
I graduated in 2003 with a BEng (Hons) in Computer Networks and Distributed systems from Napier University.
Why did you get into computing?
I always wanted to join the RAF as either pilot or as flight engineer until my computer teacher said I should think about career in computing. With computing gathering momentum in the 90s it seemed like a good career choice.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Of course still working at Dunedin IT with maybe couple more company vans, six or so staff and good reputation for IT services in the Edinburgh and surrounding area.
Career highlights so far?
Starting the business in 2009, cutting my teeth at Terinea in 2005, getting my first IT job at Jenners in 2003 and working for Microsoft in 2001.
You’re Passions?
Aside from business and computing, its Liverpool FC, playing five aside football, squash, comedy, music, films, cooking, social media and did I mention five aside football?
