The Brighton & Hove Business Show is always a standout event in the Sussex business calendar, bringing together dozens of exhibitors and local business owners under one roof at the AMEX. This year was no different on the surface, but for us, it marked something more meaningful than just another day of networking.
Twelve months ago, we arrived as a relatively new face in the Brighton business community. This year, that had clearly changed. Throughout the day, we were recognised by people we’d met over the past year, many through regular networking at the Big Business Breakfast Club. In fact, since last year’s event, we’ve now attended eight of those sessions. That consistency has quietly compounded over time, turning introductions into familiarity and familiarity into real conversations.

As the day got underway, we started with the breakfast networking session, splitting across different tables to maximise new conversations. Before the exhibition even opens, you’ve already met people in a more relaxed setting, making it far easier to reconnect later on.

One of the things that worked particularly well for us this year was our approach to standing out. Instead of relying on the usual “IT support” messaging that blends into the background, we leaned into our octopus theme to explain the idea of AI-native businesses. The visual and the concept gave people something to engage with straight away (and free cute octopus stickers certainly helps too).
One Less Thing to Worry About

Running a business in Sussex is demanding enough. IT shouldn't be the thing that keeps you up at night; whether that's a security threat you read about in the news, a connectivity issue slowing your team down, or just the nagging feeling that your systems aren't quite where they should be.
That's what Dunedin IT is here for. We take responsibility for your IT, completely so you can focus on the business you're actually running.
If you saw us at the Brighton & Hove Business Show, or you're simply looking for an IT partner who's genuinely part of the Sussex business community, we'd love to have a conversation.
