Last week, our MD Jamie, Chairman David, and Director Rory attended the Hibernian FC Partner Workshop at Easter Road. A brilliant day of networking, collaboration and conversation with fellow Club Partners and sponsors.
As Hibs' technology partner for the past four years and proud sponsor, it was a great opportunity to share the story of how we keep theClub's operations running smoothly and what that means in practice for a busy organisation with a lot riding on every single match day.
We were on hand with our stand to share how Dunedin IT supports Hibernian FC across four core pillars of technology, and the story we told is one we're genuinely proud of.
✅ 1. Proactive Support (Not Fire‑Fighting)
Problems discovered at the last minute are the most expensive.
By carrying out structured checks 48 hours and 24 hours before match day, issues are identified early, when they’re cheaper and easier to fix.
• Proactive support reduces downtime before
games
• Structured checks at T-48 and T-24
• Faster issue resolution during match day
• Removes pressure from internal staff
✅ 2. Reliable Connectivity (No Single Points ofFailure)
If systems rely on one weak link, failure is inevitable.
At Easter Road, the focus has been on resilient design, removing single points of failure and ensuring systems still work even when something breaks.
• Reliable Wi-Fi and network across stadium
• Eliminate single points of failure (e.g. DNS)
• Improve vendor and system access control
• Reduce telecom and infrastructure waste
✅ 3. Cyber Security That Protects the Business
Football clubs hold valuable data: ticketing, payment details, fan information and supplier access.
The same is true for most businesses.
By continuously monitoring access, tightening third‑party controls and protecting critical systems, risk is reduced, not just from attacks, but from accidental exposure and compliance failures.
• Continuous monitoring of systems and access
• Reduce risk from third-party access
• Protect ticketing, fan data, and operations
• Support compliance and insurance requirements
✅ 4. Automation That Gives Time Back
One of the biggest drains on any organisation is manual admin.
Through automation and smarter use of data, teams spend less time:
• Automate admin and reporting processes
• Improve decision-making with better data
• Reduce manual workload across departments
• Free up staff for higher-value activity
What this means in numbers
To put it plainly, the kind of IT failures we prevent can cost a football club anywhere from £10,000 to £50,000+ in a single match day incident. Wasted connectivity and infrastructure spend often runs to£5,000–£15,000 a year. Automation alone can save £2,000–£3,000 per employee annually.
Good technology isn't a cost. It's one of the smartest investments a business can make.
A great day with a great Club
Beyond the business conversation, it was simply a fantastic event, rounded off with dinner at Gaucho Edinburgh and some great stories fromScotland rugby internationals Duhan van der Merwe and Pierre Schoeman. The kindof day that reminds you why strong partnerships matter.
We're proud to be part of the Hibs family, and proud of what four years of genuine partnership looks like in practice.
If any of this sounds familiar for your own business, we'd love to chat. 💚
